ASUU Strike “Will End Today” – Jonathan speaks

ASUU-JONATHAN

There have been indications that after today’s meeting between President Goodluck Jonathan and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the four month strike of the lecturers may finally end.

The meeting started at about 2:30 pm in Abuja. It had in attendance the President, the Vice President, ministers of education and labour. The ASUU was presented by its Chairman, Dr Fagge, and other members of the executive of the Union. The President of Nigerian Labour Congress, Mallam Abdulwaheed Omar, was also there.
While exchanging pleasantries with the ASUU delegation, President Jonathan stated:
“I hope this strike will end today. Our children have suffered enough. We must find a solution.”
