Rita Dominic, Kate Henshaw, others to light Africa's biggest Xmas tree in Calabar

Rita set for Calabar
 The city of Calabar will make history this season as the home of the tallest Christmas tree in Africa.
The Christmas tree-lighting ceremony which kick-starts the annual month-long Calabar Festival will take place at the Millennium Park in Calabar this Saturday.
Those whose attendance at the event has been confirmed include Rita Dominic, Kate Henshaw and Bryan Okwara.
Others are Gideon Okeke of Tinsel fame and Ihuoma Nwigwe. According to the organizers, the Nollywood acts will attend the show as special guests.
As part of the opening ceremonies, popular comedian, Akpororo is also billed for the event. He is expected to thrill guests of the State, including governors, government officials, captains of industry and revelers among others to a fun moment at the Millennium Park.
The tree-lighting ceremony will be followed by the Paradise City Walk against HIV/AIDS the next day.
Other entertainers billed for the post-walk event, tagged World Aids Day Charity Concert include Samsong, Obiwon, Segun Obe, Kage, Nnanke and Darlene, who will be performing at the Millennium Park by 7pm.
Before the concert, the state Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke is expected to declare open the Festival Village at the Calabar Municipality Council grounds. The Festival Village, according to a source in the Government House, is being moved from its traditional ground at the Cultural Centre, owing to the on-going construction work on new shopping complex there.
Reports say the tourist city is already wearing new looks, in readiness for the groundbreaking events.
