A 54-year-old man, Taofeek Ayinla has been remanded in prison
custody by an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stabbing a
blind beggar identified as Ibrahim Kareem.
According to the prosecutor, Insp. Isiaka Ajadi,the incident happened on Tuesday at Igbona Market in Osogbo.
He said the accused who is a rat poison seller had reportedly stepped on the beggar while in the market and when he complained, the accused took offence.

Ayinla was said to have beaten the beggar to a state of coma and also stabbed him with a scissors on the left shoulder.
However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charge against him.
Presiding over the matter, Chief Magistrate Olusola Aluko ordered the accused to be remanded in Ilesa prison pending when his counsel, Mrs Nnena Ngwu, would file a formal bail application and the case was adjourned to May 19 for further hearing.
