Jay Z, Solange and Beyonce Issue Statement on Elevator Fight: ‘We’ve Put This Behind Us.

Beyonce Knowles, Jay Z and Solange Knowles have released a statement regarding the explosive fight that broke out between Solange and Jay Z after the Met Gala.
The statement, which focuses more on the family’s healing process instead of what happened, reads as follows:

“As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it,” an exclusive statement to The Associated Press read Thursday.
“Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.”

TMZ, who reportedly paid $250,000 for the video, posted the leaked footage of the elevator fight at the Standard Hotel in New York. The video appeared to show Solange attacking Jay Z in Beyonce’s presence, and a security guard intervenes. There was no audio recorded.
“The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false,” the statement continued. “At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”

The video immediately caused mass speculation as to what could have caused the fight. The Twitter hashtag, #WhatJayZSaidToSolange, trended worldwide all day, with memes mocking the situation going viral almost instantly.
The situation escalated when Beyonce allegedly removed all traces of Solange from her personal Instagram account, but that was later proven false.
The Hotel said Wednesday that it fired the employee who recorded the footage.
