Nikon launches “I am Nigeria” campaign to promote photography as a lifestyle

Nikon, the world leader in digital imaging, precision optics and photo imaging technology, launched the “I am Nigeria” campaign in Nigeria today as a part of their global “I am Nikon” campaign, which aims to encourage professional and recreational photographers to pursue their passion for photography.
After a year of official presence in Nigeria, Nikon will roll out the TV and Radio campaign nationwide with the slogan ‘I am keeping memories alive, I am Nikon. I am in Nigeria.’ Narendra Menon, Regional Sales Manager, Nikon Middle East & Africa said, “We all have those special memorable moments in our life that we capture on camera, and we at Nikon want people to share these milestones with us. Nikon has been well received in Nigeria as a trustworthy and reliable brand delivering outstanding quality and customer service for over a year, and we’re excited to take our engagement in Nigeria to the next level.” Continue...

The TV commercial, filmed in Nigeria as part of the campaign, captures a snapshot of everyone’s aspirations. Interwoven themes that Nigerians could relate to were recreated to highlight each one’s own way of celebrating life: football, wedding, music, fun and creativity.
As Nikon is formally making waves in Nigeria, they are offering people a chance to show their pride of being Nigerian by running a picture contest on Facebook. The campaign encourages people to capture the most festive events in their lives and demonstrate their love for the country by sharing photographs that convey what being Nigerian means to them, while highlighting Nikon cameras as a reliable partner to capture these moments.
