Selena Gomez Will 'Slow Down' The 'X Factor' Stage On Thursday

Selena Gomez

The pop star will perform her hit single live on the set of the singing competition show.

It's been quite a year for Selena Gomez. First, the 21-year-old starred in "Spring Breakers," one of the most talked-about films of 2013. Then, she handled her very public breakup with Justin Bieber with grace -- and a little sass. Finally, her fourth album, Stars Dance, debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts. And now, she's wrapping up her world tour and performing her new single on "X Factor" to celebrate.

Gomez will be reunited with friend Demi Lovato on the set of the singing competition show this Thursday, where she'll perform her single "Slow Down" for the judges, competitors and a few million Americans. We've seen her perform the track live a few times before — like on Good Morning America and at the Macy's 4th Of July Parade — but we're expecting an amped-up show in honor of the primetime coverage.
In a recent Teen Vogue interview, Gomez opened up about the newfound freedom that arrived with adulthood and how dancing helps her keep her focus. "Part of you wants to have that rebellious feeling where you're just like, forget it — I can do anything I want!" she said to the magazine. "My attention span is all over the place. Dancing allows me to go away and not have to think of what I'm doing next. That is my opportunity for me to really escape."
We hope she uses the 'X Factor' performance as an opportunity to show off some new killer moves. Shake it, Selena!
